Good morning from NYC!
New day, I bounced out of bed at half past four this morning and started working. I’m in a flow. The city gives me inspiration and distance from everything happened so I can see more clearly. I got caught in long phone cal with Pingis so didn’t have time for exercise but that’s how it is sometimes. The base is to exercise every other day and everything else is a bonus. It’s so nice that Pingis and I can run the companies and be in sync with each other. We’ve been working together every day since 2012 and have never argued. The same vision, same work pace and total trust for each other.
During dinner with my colleagues here in NYC yesterday we talked a lot about hiring the right people who fit into this vast expansion we’re having. David who is my marketing manager here said something wise. If you hire a person who used to working for big companies they will need 100% safety net before making decisions. People used to a quick pace learn to make decisions on 80%, sometimes less. The most important thing is the pace and the company has a culture that gives trust and that it’s okay if something goes wrong. That’s something really important for Pingis and I, because in the end the pace is more valuable than small mistakes, backing up and starting over than a slow pace.
It always wins.
Yesterday’s outfit. Coat Max Mara. Knitted Andiata (my favourite Finnish brand), skirt Hugo Boss and bag from Swedish ATP.
Now we’re off to a meeting with the PR agency I met last time I was here. We have a talented PR adviser for Löwengrip Beauty who are focusing on beauty media and I want to work with agency who knows business media for my own brand to. What I’ve learned about PR is that you need one for each country who knows the market and the people. In Sweden we’re hiring (hopefully, negotiating contracts) an american woman who loves in Stockholm but who will be my main PR responsible and deals with the contact for all PR agencies in different countries.
I’ll talk to you later!
