Beauty tips from the 80s and a new team

This morning something happened that’s never happened before. The kids left my bed around half past  and went to their TV-room. They turned on Netflix and then I think they sneaked downstairs and got cheese puffs because they’d left some obvious traces after them. Hehe. It reminded me of my brother and I when we were small, we had story of all morning on a weekend. Kids TV and eat all candy left on the table from the night before until you got really hungry and had to wake up mom or dad. Then we had toast with marmalade and oboy. Crazy how every breakfast could look like that for months during one’s childhood.

I don’t have a problem with the kids having pick n mix candy at the weekend, nutella at hotels or flavoured yogurt. As long as they learn what the body needs to feel good, have a healthy base and eat varied food. The varied bit is the most difficult I think. My kids could live on wheat pasta and pesto. That’s why I’ve brought in Matilda to help because I don’t have the time with that part. Gillis is veggie since 3,5 years old (!) but he doesn’t eat green cabbage salad which I like. The goal with him is to have a varied veggie diet suitable for kids that isn’t just non-processed food and full with protein and omega 3.

Sally is pretty easy with food. She was child number two so Odd and I were never paranoid about finishing everything on a plate so I am telling myself she gets a healthier outlook on food. She loves truffle salami, butter, olives and cheeses.

After breakfast the kids built dens and I sat by the fire with Vogue from the 80s. So fun! The focus on weight and dieting is crazy. The fun part is seeing the eyebrows.

No instagram. No instagram painted eyebrows! I’m looking for inspiration every day, high and low and today the best ones were from the 80s.

Sally loves clothes! Today she picked a bathing suit. Then she crawled up with me and we cuddled with books.

At lunchtime Lovisa went with the kids and I went to the gym for a PT session with Pontus. We usually don’t exercise during the week and next week I’m travelling a lot so it felt nice to get a third session this week and I needed it. This afternoon we’ve been playing, rested and bathed in the tub all three of us (it’s extra large)

Something I haven’t had a chance to tell you about is that my new security team is here during the week and has been hanging out with us all the time, the stalker is around the house a lot which is a shame but we’re strangely getting used to security. The kids don’t react to it anymore and are used to always having people around (outside and for transport). In their world we have ”our own police”. It’s been like this since September.  The plan was to get to know them at our own pace but now it’s the way it is. My former security guard’s contract finished and today we’re working with a larger company in charge of safety for the whole group. Not just my own personal safety but more strategically and even preventing for the whole group so all staff can feel safe.

Anyway, our days carry on as normal. But I’m realising more and more I really need my work week in NYC once a month.

It’ll be my time to breathe.
